THE SITUATION
An estimated 20% of the world's population lacks clean water. 40% lack a sufficient sanitation system, and 20% lack sufficient housing. Developing countries are in desire need of our assistance to help overcome challenges that all too often arise with these ongoing issues, including socioeconomic stress, resource shortages, and institutional weaknesses. There are also never-ending problems involving refugees, displaced populations and movement of populations because of political conflicts, famine, shortages of land and natural disasters. For all these situations, people living in developing countries need our help to be able to find sustainable ways to be able to live a safe and secure life that every human being so deserves.
The volunteer programs we offer will provide you with an opportunity to build a better environment for communities who struggle. Here are just a few ways that you can get involved: building playgrounds, construction and development of schools, homes, and training centres. Other examples include construction of water tanks and water pipe extensions, building check dams, road repairs, repair and maintenance of homes of elderly villagers and construction of new staff offices. By building and assisting these villages, it empowers the local people and gives them much needed resources to live better lives, encourages them to be educated, and to feel safe and protected within their own villages or local communities. Everyone needs a safe home and environment to be educated properly without having to worry about the outdoor elements, and through our volunteer teaching programs, you can help that become a reality for these villages and the locals that live within them.
